DESCRIPTION

In this virtual workshop, you will learn what it takes to direct a Narrative Film!  We’ll go over the history of directing, look at famous directors and analyze their style, and explore the various ways visionary directors stand out in the crowd.  We’ll also teach you what a director does, their role on set, their role in pre-production, production, and post-production, and you’ll get to talk to experienced directors who will share real-world advice, tips, and ideas.

BASIC INFORMATION

• Cost: $40 plus $1 processing fee per class.
• Ages: 14 and up

INSTRUCTOR: Jodi Cilley

Jodi Cilley is a long-time filmmaker, entrepreneur, and educator. She has been teaching video production since 2004 and has taught video and editing at San Diego City College, UC San Diego Extension Digital Arts Center, Platt College, and the Media Arts Center San Diego. She has produced over a hundred projects including web series, short films, TV specials, documentaries, and commercial projects, and recently produced Film Indiego, a 6-Part TV Series for KPBS.
