GI Film Festival San Diego Local Film Showcase
The GI Film Festival San Diego is an annual event that brings together filmmakers and film enthusiasts, united through their connections to the military and love for cinema.
Taking place May 6-8, 2026, the festival includes international and local films. Local films highlight San Diego’s storytellers, events, and locations, featuring work from students, emerging, and professional filmmakers. Post-screening discussions with filmmakers, actors, and documentary subjects are a key part of the event, providing space for audiences and filmmakers to connect and fostering understanding of the impacts of service.
The festival is organized by KPBS in partnership with the Film Consortium San Diego and the GI Film Group. We are proud to be a trusted destination where service members and veterans feel their stories are honored and authentically represented.
